A not very timely note

This was a blog I once wrote during my high school and early college years. I keep it around for nostalgic purposes, but it is quite obviously no longer updated. I am looking to make a more professional blog presence in the future, but I still like to look at where I was mentally at certain points in time.

"Time" by G.

Time is one of the most valuable resources. It's finite, yet required to do anything. Obviously time can't be controlled. But it can be managed. And you have the ability to make the choice on whether to use your time for one purpose or another. I don't think we understand this as kids. I used to think that summertime lasted for about a decade. Now it feels exactly like what it is; those few months. Unfortunately, the hardest goals to achieve always have the highest cost; the time you have to sacrifice. I regret some of the time that I've wasted already that I could have been working toward something instead of nothing. But while we are here dilly daddling away, time keeps ticking by. They say there aren't enough hours in a day; and for many people that's probably true. But then we come to the line drawn in the sand. People should work hard to achieve their goals and keep on living, but at the same time, you should also try to have some fun in life and continue to pursue happiness. Where do we strike the balance? It depends, and it is difficult. Initially, many people are probably on one side of the fence. All work or all play. To balance that requires some sacrifices and some management of your time on your part. But managing your time is one of the smartest things that you can do. So I'm going to go ahead and cut off my rambling with this; don't waste your time. When it's gone, its gone.

Very very well put.
It is so true, I stop and think so often where did the time go or wow time really does fly.
Your right if you don't make the best of it when you have, you can not get those hours, weeks, months or even years back.

Oh but in a way we do control time. Time is merely a measurement that we created, like centimetres and feet. If we didn't measure things in feet and centimetres, then a twelve foot high wall would cease to be such and the same goes for time. It is a measurement we introduced and created in order to possess more control of the world and perhaps create a more uniform order. The problem being that we have now fallen victims to it, constantly checking our watches and setting alarms. I feel very constricted sometime when I'm pressed by deadlines, by time. It's good sometimes to sit in a room endlessly without cause or worry for time, letting it sift through the crevices of life. We're the ones who controlled the time controlling, it is we who must be blamed for our hardships related thus. Imposing restrictions on our life was our idea. That's my two cents and three minutes on time.

Nice blog, I like to hear some unadulterated and unbiased personal opinions that don't relate to "what shoes should I buy?". It's a good change, keep up the good work, I'll be following your blog.

I hope that makes sense or is followable in some way. :)

@ Alpha Whale
Haha makes perfect sense. I was wondering who would actually get that :P Yes, the concept of time is pretty much there for logistical benefits. But ultimately time management is necessary; although the extremes that most people take it to today are very unhealthy. If we really wanted as little time restriction as possible, we would have to retract from modern life pretty much. But you are absolutely right.

Glad someone likes this stuff lol. It's all pretty convenient. since I haven't bought a pair of shoes in ages :P

It's nice to see some intelligence on the internet, and you are entirely right as well in regards to management; it's just that when I posted I completely disregarded the original content as I began my tangent.

(And I apologize, but I would donate if I was monetarily capable. Rich teenagers are a rare commodity)

Well thanks! Although there are much more intelligent people on here I assure you.

Ha we are in the same boat; college costs are throwing me around like a ragdoll. Yeah all the rich ones are hiding in Beverly Hills somewhere :P

I'm not at college/university yet, but I'm already screwed over by the dollar.
