Ignorance is bliss, or so I've been told. I've heard it's why children are so happy, running around without a care in the world. They have no idea what's going on around them, or how hurtful the world can really be. People dying, alone in their apartment, men and women being forced to sell themselves on the street, just to have enough cash to eat the next day; kids are oblivious to the harsh realities we are faced with day in and day out.
Well, is ignorance actually bliss? No one can really say, really. Everyone has a different view on life itself, good or bad. I may not know first handedly what it's like to live out on the streets, or even to be forced to succumb to the vile hell of prostitution; I know enough from the environment around me that life isn't a box of chocolates. Things comes at you fast, whether you like it or not. It's not about if you are ready to move on with your life, start college or get a real job. You always have to be on your toes, regardless of your surroundings. Nothing's pretty.
So, what's the whole premise of this? Am I trying to tell you to grow up? No, I'm not. The world is a cruel, cruel place, and if you don't want to wise up, fine. It's my opinion, not yours. Quite frankly, I don't really care if you listen to my words or not. This is just my venting on the society we live in today.

I must say, Strlight, this really hits home. Full of emotion. I do agree with it, however. For your first article, it has spunk. Keep up the good work!
